Harold F 'Buzzy' Wolf

Harold F. "Buzzy" Wolf, 84, of High Cliff Circle, Seven Devils, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Watauga Medical Center in Boone.

A Founding Father and former Mayor (1991-1999) of Seven Devils. Buzzy was also an Assistant Fire Chief for the Seven Devils Volunteer Fire Department which he helped establish in 1979. Buzzy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a former member of the Watauga Medical Center Board of Endowment.

Buzzy was a native of Tampa, Fla. He was an executive in his family's chain of clothing stores, Wolf Brothers of Florida, which was founded in 1892. Buzzy and his wife of 59 years Laurel Pelzman Wolf moved to Watauga County over 40 years ago.

In addition to Laurel, Buzzy is survived by one son, Harold Frederick Wolf, III and wife, Andrea, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one daughter, Teri Wolf Bonomo and husband, Wayne, of Oak Hill, Va.; four grandsons, Gregory Thomas Polgar of Washington, D.C., Eric Wolf Polgar of Oak Hill, Va., Adam Donald Wolf and Harold Frederick Wolf, IV both of Walnut Creek, Calif.

Memorial services for Harold F. "Buzzy" Wolf will be held in the Spring.
