Glenn Franklin Wilson

Glenn Franklin Wilson, 72, of Vilas, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born June 2, 1941, in Watauga County, to the late James Bert Wilson and Elizabeth Icenhour Wilson. In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Guy and Hazel Falwell; two brothers, Ivy Wilson and Tom Wilson.

Glenn liked his cars. He attended Antioch Baptist Church. Glenn was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Ellis and husband, Billy, and Melissa Harrold of North Wilkesboro; son, James "Frankie"Wilson of Taylorsville; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Harper and Della Ward; brothers, J.C. Wilson, Jerry "Dave" Wilson and Lee Wilson; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

The family received friends 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday Oct. 3, 2013, with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Ray Vaught officiating. Pallbearers were family and friends. Graveside service and interment followed the funeral service at the Reece Cemetery in Vilas (Mabel School Road).
