Frances Delores "Shorty" McGuire, 81, went home to be with her Lord June 7, 2012.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday June 12, 2012, at Hampton Funeral Home in Boone. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Zionville.

"Shorty" was born in Banner Elk and was the daughter of the lade Ada Belle Wilson and Roby Oscar McGuire. She was retired from the former Volvo-White Trucking in Greensboro. She was also a member of First Christian Church in Kernersville.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Jewell J Moody.

Survivors include her son, Larry G. McGuire of Texas; grandson, Sean McGuire of Texas; and her loving niece and caregiver, Rheba Lowry of Cleveland, OH; great-niec, Julie Lukjan; great-nephews, Stephan Lowry and Michael Lowry; great-great-nephews, Stephan Lowry and Collin Lowry.

The family will visit with friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Hampton Funeral Home in Boone.
