Floyd Thomas Donahue

Floyd Thomas Donahue, 83, of Wytheville, Va., and formerly of Boone, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013.

He was born in McAlester, Okla., on Aug. 14, 1929, the son of the late Floyd Eugene and Oza Wasson Donahue.

Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Boone, and had operated Katherine D's clothing.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Katherine Freeman Donahue; son, Michael Thomas Donahue and wife, Amy, of Prairieville, La.; daughters, Mary Kathleen Donahue Weinandy and husband, Mike, of Tigard, Ore., Sheila Donahue Mather and husband, Scott, of Commerce, Ga., Katy Donahue Wyatt and husband, Donald, of Kernersville; grandchildren, Lindy Donahue, Zachary Donahue, Morgan Donahue Mather, Baron Mather, Lily Mather, Virginia Wyatt & Andrew Wyatt; brothers, Gene Donahue, Gary Donahue, both of Springville, IN.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Wytheville Presbyterian Church with the Honorable Isaac Freeman officiating. Interment followed in the East End Cemetery in Wytheville, Va., with Military Rites being conducted by American Legion Post #9.
