Floyd Lincoln Pope

Floyd Lincoln Pope, 72, of Lenoir, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Burke Hospice. He was born February 12, 1940, in Caldwell County to the late Floyd James and Lula Ann Collins Pope. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Faye Pope, great-grandson, Allen Baxter Crowe; three brothers; two sisters; and one half-sister.

Mr. Pope was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Darcy Allen Pope, Darian Lane Pope and wife, Judy, and Dale Eugene Pope, all of Lenoir; two daughters, Lola Nadine Auton and Sharon Pope Crowe, both of Lenoir; two brothers, Lonnie Pope and wife, Reba, of Lenoir and Bradley Pope and wife, Marcy, of South Dakota; two sisters, Rachel Early and husband, Harold, of Connelly Springs and Bessie Rainey of Lenoir. Eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Rick Bowman. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1  to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests contributions be made to Yokefellow Christian Service Center, 1602 Harper Avenue, Lenoir, N.C. 28645.
