Mr. Eugene Winebarger, 75, of Martin Lane, Boone, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at his home.

Eugene was born January 24, 1939, in Watauga County. He retired from TRW as a supervisor and worked for many years for Mack Brown, Inc.

He is survived by one daughter, Kim Greer and husband, the Rev. Wynn Greer; three grandchildren Noah Greer, Abigail Greer, and Chloe Greer, all of Vilas; his mother, Kate Tester of Vilas; one sister, Linda Wilson and husband, Paul, of Sugar Grove; his former wife, Lana King of Mountain City; and a number of close nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Winebarger; a granddaughter, Hannah Greer his step-father, Ed Tester; and one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Wilma Winebarger.

Graveside services for Mr. Eugene Winebarger were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at Forest Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Wynn Greer. The family received friends prior to the service from 1 until 3 p.m. at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
