Dillion Luther Critcher
Dillion Luther Critcher, 16, of 2434 Deerfield Road, Boone, died Thursday evening, June 14, 2012.
Dillion was born February 19, 1996, in Watauga County, a son of Danny and Lynne Williams Critcher. He was a rising Junior at Watauga High School. Dillion was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, where he was very active in mission work and his youth group. He was a participant in sports throughout his life. Dillion played baseball, basketball, and football. Sports were not his only achievement in life; academics came first. He obtained perfect attendance in grades K-8. Dillion was an outgoing, compassionate, fun loving friend to everyone he met.
In addition to his parents, Dillion is survived by his brother and best friend, Zack Critcher, of the home; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Griffin Williams of Boone; his paternal grandparents, Harry and Wanda Critcher of Boone; his aunts and uncles, Randy Critcher and wife, Debra, Jeff Jordan and wife, Sandy, all of Boone, and Greg Williams and wife, Gwynne of Acworth, Georgia; and five first cousins, Cody Critcher, Ethan Critcher, and Madi Critcher, all of Boone, Conner Williams and Gunner Williams, both of Acworth, Georgia.
A celebration of Dillion's life was conducted Monday afternoon, June 18, 2012, Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Bud Russell and the Rev. Jason Powers. Private graveside services and burial followed.
