Ms. Cynthia Boswell, 70, of Blowing Rock, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Carolina Medical Center- Main in Charlotte.
Cynthia was born on June 10, 1943 in Salisbury, Rhodesia, (now Zimbabwe) to Gwylim and Christina Williams. She married Richard Eldon Boswell on Dec. 1, 1962, at the Cathedral in Salisbury, Rhodesia.
Cynthia was retired, which gave her time to attain her lifelong desire to become a successful landscape and portrait artist, specializing in oils and pastels. She loved animals and nature; and enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, sewing and knitting gifts for her family.
Survivors include children, Julie Boswell of Charlotte, Nicolette (Steve) Klompien of Palmyra, Mo., and Geoffrey (Angela) Boswell of Palmyra; grandchildren, Sophie Foster and Luke Foster of Palmyra, Abbigail Boswell of Palmyra; sisters, Kitty Belton of Perth, Australia, and Laney Arton-Powell of Amanzimtoti, South Africa.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A memorial service and interment will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal Church, 140 Chestnut Drive, Blowing Rock. The Rev. Richard C. Lawler will officiate.
