Clyde W. Miller
Mr. Clyde W. Miller, 93, of Meat Camp Road, Boone, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 23, 2013, at home.
Born Oct. 31, 1919 in Watauga County, he was a son of the late John Clay and Esther Jane Eller Miller. Clyde was a farmer and a member of Proffit's Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Fred Miller and wife, Libby, and Mike Miller; two grandchildren, David and Rebecca Dawn Miller Harmon, both of Boone; two stepgranddaughters, Treva Hardy of Boone and Kimberly Rominger of West Jefferson; a great-granddaughter, Eva Grace Harmon; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Ella Grace Miller; his special friend, Sarah Greene, five sisters, Pearl Winebarger, Lois Winebarger, Chessie Winebarger, Blanche Osborne, and an infant; and four brothers, Van, Clint, Ford and Ward Miller.
Funeral services for Mr. Clyde W. Miller will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Proffit's Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Delmar James, the Rev. Eric Proffit and the Rev. Jerry Moretz. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Proffit's Grove Baptist Church.
