Clara Parleir Lindsey

Clara Parleir Lindsey, 80, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday,  May 6, 2014, at her residence.
Born March 9, 1934 in Watauga County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence S. Parleir and Lucy Norris Parleir.
Mrs. Lindsey was a homemaker and a charter member of Temple Baptist Church.
She loved to read, spend time with her family and her church family. Everyone that ever met Clara fell in love with her and her wonderful sense of humor. Her smile would light up the room.  She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Rogers, and brother, Jay Parleir.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Joe Johnson of Mocksville; daughters, Debra McKinney (Bill), and Melanie Johnson, all of Statesville; two brothers, Earl Parleir (Norma) of Hickory, and Ray Parleir of Boone; three grandchildren, Brandi Johnson Browning (James), Matthew McKinney and Rebecca McKinney and three great-grandchildren, Ella Browning, Benson Browning, and Jacob Browning.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
The funeral service honoring Mrs. Lindsey's life will be held at 11 am. on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Mitchell and the Rev. Lonnie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
