Circe 'Lisa' Santaniello
She was born on July 29, 1954, to Salvatore and Alma Stoepel Santaniello in Miami, Fla.
Raised in New Jersey, she lived in Hawaii, Seattle and Boone, N.C., making Galveston her final home.
She was a spiritual leader to many, an accomplished psycho-dramatist, writer and student of shamanic studies.
During her time in Boone, she led a teaching coven and helped organize a local chapter of CUUPS.
Her life was devoted to healing, mythology and psychology, counseling on healing through myths and by writing in her blog, "Live Mythically."
She traveled the world and led spiritual groups and covens in the many communities that she resided, including Second Life.
She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Bill Hassel. She is survived by her brother, Eric Santaniello; sister, Ellen Adriance; nieces, Alexis Santaniello and Liz Burnham; in-laws, Charles Hassle and Lori Santaniello; and friends that she considered her family from PSG, covens, fellowships, her Second Life creation, Dark Moon and her many healing groups.
A memorial will be held Sunday, June 22, at 3:30 p.m. At the Boone Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. It will be an open ritual and sharing, with a potluck following.
