Chloe Palmer Swift

Chloe Palmer Swift, 94, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, January 22, 2012, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Butler, TN, was a former resident of Cove Creek, NC, and had lived in Kingsport most of her life. Mrs. Swift was a faithful member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis B. Swift; son, Thomas "Tommy" Swift; three sisters, Myrtle Moody, Georgia Dishner and Mary Alice Hanna; brother, Ronald Palmer.

She is survived by her son, Willis G. "Jerry" Swift of Kingsport; one sister, Marga Lee Williams of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe W. Byrd and Rev. Phil Whittemore officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Bloomingdale Baptist Church.
