Charles Alexander Hayworth, Jr.

Charles Alexander Hayworth, Jr., "Buck", 70, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, at Duke VA Hospital in Durham, N.C.
Born in Boone, N.C. on January 3, 1944, Buck was the son of the late Agnes and Charles Alexander Hayworth, Sr. He was a dedicated member, leader and bible student of St. Paul's Lutheran Chruch in Taylorsville, N.C.
Buck is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Wilmington, N.C.; sisters, Elizabeth Moore and husband, David, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. and Judy Gragg and husband, Robert, of Boone; and a number of nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Appalachian High School in 1962 and from Appalachian State University following a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, he spent the last years of his employment history with New River Building Supply in Boone. His friendly personality and many talents provided him employment in teaching, surveying, baking and sales. He designed and supervised the building of his mountain home.
His dogs were among his best friends. Memorials, in his name, to one's local animal shelter would be most appropriate.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
