Bill Blair

Mr. Bill Blair, 90, a resident of Longview Drive, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Thomasville Medical Center.
He was born in Davidson County, Aug. 9, 1922, a son of Edward and Callie Leach Blair, and was a lifelong resident of Davidson County.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a lifelong member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church. He was the former owner and operator of Bill Blair TV for 40 years. Bill was an avid sportsman all his life and loved any outdoor activity, particularly hunting and fishing. He had been a member of the Thomasville Buck Club for 55 years.
On Dec. 24, 1944, he was married to Miss Agnes Joyner, who preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2005. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha Leamon; and by brothers, Joseph Blair, Paul Blair, Clyde Blair, and Herbert Blair.
Surviving are two sons, Don Blair and his wife, Janice, of Boone, and Scott Blair and his wife, Pam, of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Jeff Blair and his wife, Amie, of Memphis, Tenn., Beth Loflin and her husband, Steve, of Valle Crucis, Jason Blair and his wife, Tiffany, of Thomasville, and Ally Blair of Durham. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren.
The family would also like to express their appreciation to three special friends for their companionship to Bill for many years, Jackie Welch, Jeff Nance, and Brad Myers.
At Bill's request, no services will be held. The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Bill's residence, 614 Longview Drive, Thomasville.
