Betsy Ann Rogers Greene

Betsy Ann Rogers Greene, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend joined her heavenly Father on March 1, 2014, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

She was born to the late Eula Miller Rogers and Jake Coy Rogers in Watauga County on July 2, 1940. She was the youngest of six siblings, Ernest, Mary Lee, Wayne, Jack, and Shelby, all preceding her in death.

A graduate of Appalachian High School and ASTC (now Appalachian State University), she taught school for many years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury. Betsy loved her Sunday school class, line dancing, travel club, and many close friends at various places she resided.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Greene (Sandy) of Salisbury and Gary Greene (Cherie) of Rock Hill, S.C.; grandchildren, Alexandra, Chase, and Sunni; niece, Annette Salyards; and many other nephews and nieces and their children.

A funeral were held at First Baptist Church in Salisbury at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, conducted by the Rev. Rod Kerr, Minister of Education at First Baptist Church. The family received friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are sent to First Baptist Church, The Singled Out Mission Fund, 223 N. Fulton St., Salisbury, NC 28144, to help with the many endeavors this class does for the community.
