Mrs. Arlene Greer Greene, 83, passed away at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville on Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

A graveside service was held at Oakridge Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday, with the Reverend Terrell Roberts and Brother Ray Roberts officiating. The family received friends at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors on Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Grandsons and great-grandsons of Mrs. Greene served as pallbearers.

She was born December 3, 1928, in Boone, North Carolina to Sherman Carl and Vertie Mae Triplett Greer, both of whom preceded her in death. Preceding her in death also was the father of her children, M. L. "Ted" Greene and one brother Charles Greer. Mrs. Greene worked many years in Boone, North Carolina for Shadowline. She loved gospel music, traveling, cooking, shopping, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid reader of cook books and magazines. She was a member of Mt. Ephriam Baptist Church.

Mrs. Greene is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Edsel Davis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie L. and Debra H. Greene, Russell T. and Karen N. Greene and daughter, Sue Baughman all of Tifton; eight grandchildren, Lisa M. Cooper, Melissa A. Davis, Cliff Davis, Andy Greene, Amy Greene, Stacie Moore, Dawn Grimes and Cory Baughman; eight great-grandchildren, Caelan Cooper, Brandon Cooper, Deven Davis, Aaron Davis, Rosemary Davis, Abbigail Moore, Maggie Grace Grimes and Makenzie Leann Greene; one brother and sister-in-law, Rob and Betty Greer of Triplett, North Carolina; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jewel Greer Triplett of Blounts Creek, North Carolina and Wanda and Norman "Red" Hill of Tifton.

Flowers were accepted, or memorial gifts can be made to Tift Avenue Baptist Church, 3015 N Tift Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794.
