Mr. Archie Edward Pennell, 86, of Ed Williams Road, Zionville, died Friday, July 6, 2012.

Born October 26, 1925, he was saved at a young age and he is now home with the Lord. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and brother. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Edward and Emma Pennell; two brothers Earnest and Dean Pennell; and two grandsons, Jamie Pennell and Mark Pennell.

He is survived by Irene Pennell, his wife of more than 60 years; two sons, A. J. Pennell and partner, Lydia Calloway, and Jerry Pennell and wife, Jane, of Zionville,;two sisters Della Lawrence of Lenoir and Margie Isaacs of Zionville; and grandsons Mark & Matthew Pennell also of Zionville. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was known for his kindness, gentle spirit and his generosity. He will be greatly missed but we take comfort in knowing that we will see our precious "paw" again one day, in Heaven.

Funeral services for Archie Edward Pennell will be conducted at 1 p.m Monday, July 9th, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Zionville. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 8th, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
