A Boone man critically injured in a vehicle accident Saturday has died from his injuries.

Lowell Miller, 66, of George Moretz Lane died Tuesday evening at Johnson City Medical Center, according to an obituary prepared by Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.

Miller was traveling alone on N.C. 194 North when his vehicle ran off the road, hit a tree and overturned Saturday evening.

He was airlifted to the Tennessee hospital and remained in critical condition while hospitalized.

Miller was a Watauga County native employed as an accountant. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during Vietnam and a former member of the N.C. National Guard’s 1451st Transportation Company.
