A young woman reported last week that she was raped at an apartment in Boone, according to information released Monday by the Boone Police Department.

A 19-year-old woman told police on Feb. 11 that she had been raped Feb. 3 in the 200 block of Yosef Drive by a man she had previously dated, according to Boone police. Watauga Democrat does not identify victims or alleged victims of sexual crimes.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, said Sgt. Shane Robbins.

This is the first rape reported to the Boone Police Department in 2013.
