Nov. 30

Joshua Terry Canter, 31, of 168 Iesnhour Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of simple physical assault. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 7 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.

 

Dec. 1

Aaron Frederick Query, 32, of 5191 Peoria Road, Vilas, was served with a warrant for arrest on two counts of simple physical assault. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 6 in lieu of a secured $750 bond.

 

Dec. 2

Larceny was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Markee Drive in Deep Gap. A four-wheeler and a dirt bike were reported stolen.

A suspicious phone call was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Farris Valley Drive in Zionville.

Domestic criminal trespassing was reported at a residence on the 3100 block of Baird's Creek Road in Vilas. A person entered the property and refused to leave.

Criminal damage to property by vandalism was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Charlie Dancy Road in Zionville. The owner reported renters had damaged the home.

Lydia Smith, 40, of 267 Sawmillers Way, Banner Elk, was arrested on view on a charge of domestic criminal trespass. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Dec. 16.

Cody Maxwell Trivette, 16, of 499 Trivette Circle, Sugar Grove, was served with a warrant for arrest on two counts of assault on a government official, injury to personal property and injury to real property. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 7 in lieu of a secured $2,000 bond.

David William Sides, 55, of 480 David Sides Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of civil contempt. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Dec. 14.

 

Dec. 3

Criminal damage to property by vandalism was reported in open land areas on the 4600 block of U.S. 421 in Vilas. The victim reported cattle had damaged Christmas trees.

Jose Esteban Alvarez, 16, of 434 Bluebird Lane, Boone, was issued a citation for driving without an operator's license. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 10 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

John Michael Barnes, 23, of 624 U.S. 321 North, Vilas, was arrested on view on a charge of driving while impaired. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 7 in lieu of a written promise bond.

 

Dec. 4

Larceny was reported on the 800 block of Bamboo Road in Boone. The victim reported a handbag and a scarf were stolen.

Burglary with forced entry and larceny were reported at a construction site on the 3600 block of Meat Camp Road. The residence was entered while under construction and two saws stolen.

Ethan Jedidiah Morris, 17, of 140 Goshen Creek Lane, Boone, was arrested on view on charges of two counts each of resisting arrest and court violations. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 7 in lieu of a secured $4,000 bond.

 

Dec. 5

An officer reported a person fleeing arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving with wanton disregard and reckless driving. The person did not stop for a speeding offense. The incident report indicates a Colt handgun, a bolt-action rifle, one bullet and a broken metal magazine were seized.

Larceny was reported at a residence on the 10200 block of U.S. 421 in Zionville. The home was entered without the use of force and a purse, several pieces of jewelry, three knives and a video game console were stolen.

A person reported a lost or stolen wallet in Boone. The victim left the wallet on a table at a restaurant and then left the business.

 

Dec. 6

Officers were called to an open land area off the 4300 block of N.C. 194 in Boone in reference to an injured deer.

Simple physical assault was reported on N.C. 421 near High Country Muffler in Vilas. The report states a person had assaulted his/her daughters.

Char Ellen Storch-Eller, 39, of 609 Will Isaacs Road, Zionville, was arrested on view on a charge of assault and battery. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 20 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.
