UDO draft part 2 available, workshop March 25

The second portion of the revised Boone Unified Development
Ordinance draft -- including the new Table of Permissible Uses -- is now available
online.
The draft will be reviewed at a public workshop on Monday, March 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Council Chambers, located at 1500 Blowing Rock Road. To review the second section of the UDO draft, download the document from the link to the right of this web page.
Staff members have also added many new types of uses to the table, and changes to some existing uses in zoning districts have been proposed as well.
The third and final portion of the draft UDO will be reviewed at a workshop on Tuesday, May 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. After the public workshops, staff will incorporate feedback and revise the document prior to a public hearing. The council could adopt the new UDO later this spring.

The reorganization of the UDO includes clarification of definitions, elimination of inconsistencies and redundancies and restructuring of articles by topics.
