Two more people tossed hats into the ring Tuesday in the race for three open seats on the Watauga County Board of Commissioners.
Karen Greene Lerch of Sugar Grove, a Republican, will vie for the District 3 seat currently occupied by Democrat Billy Kennedy, who has filed for re-election. In addition, Larry K. Turnbow, a Democrat from Blowing Rock, will run for the District 4 seat held by Republican David Blust, who is also seeking re-election.
A third Republican has filed as a candidate for Democrat Kay Hagan's U.S. Senate seat -- Heather Grant of Wilkesboro, who filed Feb. 14.
Candidate filing for the 2014 elections continues through Friday, Feb. 28.
