Two arrested after business break-in

Boone Police arrested two Tennessee men Tuesday on felony charges after a business break-in last month on N.C. 105.

An officer located Corey Lynn Holslaw, 18, and Devyn Aldrich Chambers, 20, of Elizabethton, Tenn., in a van parked near 1st Tracks in Boone around midnight Nov. 23, according to Detective David Osborne.

The officer turned around and stopped the van as it attempted to leave, while another officer inspected the building, Osborne said.

The second officer found that a rear door to a storage area of 1st Tracks was forced open, and merchandise was scattered on the ground, he said. The officer also found that a window had been smashed at 1st Tracks.

Although nothing was stolen, both men were charged with felony breaking and entering based on their intent to commit larceny inside the business, he said.

"It is believed that the officer driving by interrupted their efforts," Osborne said.

Police believe the Homegrown Glass business was the intended target, but 1st Tracks wraps around that business space within the building at 1380 N.C. 105.

Each suspect was issued a $10,000 secured bond and a court date of Jan. 22, 2013.
