Two Vilas men charged with drug violations

On May 7, Narcotics Detectives from the Watauga County
Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant subsequent to an investigation
involving the sell and delivery of large amounts of marijuana.
The investigation, which culminated in a search warrant, was
a joint operation between the Watauga County Sheriff's Office and the N.C.
During the course of the search warrant, detectives and probation officers located and seized over six pounds of marijuana.
The marijuana had an estimated street value of $38,400,
which was $400 per ounce.

Jonathan David Johnson, 29, and Ethan Layne Boswell, 25, both of 281 Fox Hill Road, Vilas, were charged with conspiracy to possess marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule I psilocybin mushrooms and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Johnson and Boswell taken to the Watauga County Detention
Facility in lieu of a $15,000 secured bond.
They are scheduled to appear in court on July 25.
