Two people were charged last week after a traffic stop in Boone led to the seizure of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, the Watauga County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

On March 13, narcotics detectives stopped a white Dodge pickup truck near the intersection of Wilson Drive and Deck Hill Road in Boone. During the stop, officers seized two plastic bags containing 2.1 grams of crystal meth, a glass methamphetamine pipe and two syringes, according to the sheriff's office.

The occupants of the vehicle, Christina Lynn Potter, 24, of Todd, and Jesse Kenneth Huffman, 27, of Vilas, were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff's office said. Huffman also was charged with reckless driving to endanger.

Potter was held at the Watauga Detention Center in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 23.

Huffman was held in lieu of a $4,000 secured bond and also is scheduled to appear in court April 23.
