Texting option now available for school parents
by Allison Haver
There is now an option for parents and guardians to receive
text messages about changes in school schedules and school emergencies.
According to the Watauga County Schools, if any parent or guardian does not currently receive this service and would like to, they can contact the data manager at their child's school office.
The newsletter emphasized the importance of parents notifying
the school office right away of any changes with their contact information.
Current information can be crucial in the event of a school emergency.
There are several other ways parents and guardians can get school closing information such as checking the Watauga County Schools' website, http://www.watauga.k12.nc.us, calling the snowline at (828) 264-0200 and the Alert Now phone call that goes out to all households from the superintendent's office.
