Templeton offer stands for old WHS
by Kellen Moore
Watauga County got no upset bids by its deadline Thursday, allowing Templeton Properties to remain the highest bidder on the former Watauga High School property, County Manager Deron Geouque said.
The Boone development company offered $18,948,000 for the land off N.C. 105, but Phil Templeton has given no public indication of how the company might use the property.
That figure would net the county $18,000,600 after paying a 5 percent commission.
Watauga County commissioners still must approve or deny the offer, which could happen as soon as the board's meeting Tuesday.
