Student robbed on ASU campus

An Appalachian State University student reported that he was robbed Sunday evening by two men who knocked him down and pilfered through his wallet, according to ASU police.

The student was walking near the Holmes Convocation Center at Holmes Drive and Faculty Street when the crime occurred around 5:55 p.m. The victim said there were no weapons involved, but the men stole money from his wallet, according to a crime alert.

The suspects were both described as black men in their early 20s, approximately 6 feet tall with thin build and short hair. One was in a red hooded sweatshirt and jeans and the other in a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, according to police.

The student said the suspects fled in a red, older-model Jeep Cherokee.

Appalachian State University police are still investigating the incident.
