Stabbing suspect arrested
by Kellen Moore
The Watauga County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 38-year-old
woman in connection with a stabbing early Thursday morning in Meat Camp.
Wendy Melissa Miller of 2251 Longhope Road was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, Capt. Dee Dee Rominger said Tuesday. Miller was held at the Watauga Detention Center with no bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 13.
Law enforcement and medical crews responded to the home on Longhope Road around 6:30 a.m. Thursday after a 35-year-old man, David Skattebo, was stabbed in the arm after a disagreement, Rominger said. The two were friends, she said.
The victim was taken to Watauga Medical Center for treatment of a single stab wound to the arm, according to Craig Sullivan, director of Watauga Medics. His injuries were not life-threatening.
The sheriff's office did not immediately release the name of the suspect last week because she had not yet been arrested.
