Santa Paws is coming to town

by Staff Reports

The Watauga County Humane Society will once again host Santa Paws photos at the Little Red School House in Valle Crucis, behind Mast General Store.

People are invited to bring pets, all varieties and sizes welcome, on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5-6, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to pose with Santa for a holiday photo. All dogs must be on a leash.

Prints are $10 for a 5x7 and additional copies at $5 each.

This year, weaver Cindy Long will be at the event to demonstrate spinning. She will offer woven gift items for sale, with 10 percent of sales to benefit WHS.

Last year's event raised more than $600 in photo sales with nearly 60 animals and countless people appearing for a chance to pose with Santa Paws.

For more information call Rachel Jolly at (828) 266-3568. The snow dates for the event will be Dec. 12 and 13.
