Sampson fall victim airlifted

A man was airlifted from Watauga Medical Center on Wednesday
evening after a 10- to 20-foot fall in the Sampson community, Watauga Medics Director Craig Sullivan
confirmed.
Rescue units responded to the 1300 block of Sampson Road around 8:15 p.m. and found the man suffering severe back pain.
A Wings Air Rescue helicopter met Watauga Medics at the medical center helipad to transport the victim to Johnson City Medical Center. His name and condition were unknown as of Thursday morning.
