Resolution passed to temporarily relocate Brushy Fork Precinct
by Allison Haver
County Board of Elections has passed a resolution that will temporarily
relocate the Brushy Fork Precinct polling place for the second primary in July.
A second primary
will be held because in at least one race a candidate not receive a substantial
plurality of the votes as defined by the North Carolina general statute
following the May 6 primary election.
place for the precinct will be relocated from Oak Grove Baptist Church Fellowship
Hall to the AppalCART Conference Room located on N.C. 105 Bypass.
The second primary
will be held on July 15, which falls on the same week that Oak Grove Baptist has
scheduled its annual Vacation Bible School.
According to the
resolution the fellowship hall at Oak Grove Baptist Church is still a suitable
and appropriate location for the polling place for the Brushy Fork precinct for
future elections and will remain the regular polling place for the precinct.
