Police seek Kmart fraud suspect

Watauga County Crimestoppers is seeking information about a man
suspected of defrauding the Kmart store in Boone.
On Aug. 17, a man entered Kmart on Blowing Rock Road with large bills and asked the cashier to make change.
The suspect talked to the cashier about playing poker and was able to manipulate the currency, leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is a black man in his mid to late 40s. The suspect was well-dressed and was captured on the store's video surveillance.
Anyone with information on this crime or any other crime is asked to call Crimestoppers at (828) 268-6959 or the Boone Police Department at (828) 262-6900.
All information will be kept confidential, and Crimestoppers pays rewards for information that leads to arrests, recovery of stolen property, seizure of drugs or the location of wanted persons.
