NWS: Potential for heavy snow

Coming in behind the week's heavy rains, a winter storm watch is in effect for Watauga County, the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va., said Wednesday.
The watch is in effect from 7 a.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday for areas primarily along and west of the Blue Ridge. The NWS says there is a potential for heavy snow and accumulation of up to six inches by Thursday evening.
