A Deep Gap man was injured Thursday after hitting the back of an SUV as it stopped for a red light on U.S. 421.
The accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. near the University Nissan dealership as Socorro Galicia, 33, of Boone, slowed for a red light, said Trooper Michael Goldsmith.
John Goodson, 35, the rider of a red and black Honda Shadow motorcycle, failed to see the traffic slowing and hit the back of the SUV, Goldsmith said.
Goodson was taken to Watauga Medical Center by ambulance, but was up and walking later in the afternoon, Goldsmith said.
Galicia and her two children were not injured in the wreck.
Galicia was cited for driving without a license, and Goodson for failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, Goldsmith said.
