Man stabbed in arm in Meat Camp

A 35-year-old man was stabbed in the arm early Thursday morning at a home on Longhope Road in Meat Camp, according to law enforcement and medical responders.

The stabbing occurred at 2251 Longhope Road around 6:30 a.m. as the result of a disagreement , and the perpetrator has been identified, said Capt. Dee Dee Rominger of the Watauga County Sheriff's Office.

Rominger said that warrants had been issued but that the suspect was not yet in custody as of 9:30 a.m. She said she would not identify either the victim or suspect until the suspect was in custody.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, was taken to Watauga Medical Center for treatment of the single stab wound to the arm, said Craig Sullivan, director of Watauga Medics. The wound is not believed to be life-threatening.

Wings Air Rescue was originally placed on standby as a precaution, but the flight service was not needed.
