Man charged with sexually assaulting Boone nursing home resident

Boone police arrested a Lenoir man Thursday after allegations that he sexually assaulted a family member residing at a local nursing home.
Workers called police around 11 p.m. Thursday to report that a man visiting Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation had been found committing sexual acts against the disabled woman, according to a news release.
Charles Michael Horton, 60, was arrested as he walked away from the facility.
Horton was charged with sexual battery and held at the Watauga Detention Center in lieu of a $4,000 secured bond.
The investigation is continuing, and more charges are possible.
