Man charged with firing gun in apartment

Just after 6 p.m. Saturday, Boone police and Watauga County sheriff's deputies responded to 451 Yosef Drive after a report of shots being fired in an apartment.
Officers found that the suspect had fired a gun and then fled, activating the fire alarm system in an attempt to hide his identity, according to Boone Police Department.
Officers located the suspect hiding inside a vehicle in the parking lot. He was not compliant, and officers forcefully took him into custody, according to police.
Sgt. Shane Robbins of the Boone Police Department said alcohol was involved in the incident.
According to police, Jacob Arnold Miller, 21, was charged with:
— Discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling
— Breaking and entering a vehicle
— Injury to real property
— Carrying a concealed weapon
— Resisting a public officer
— Molesting a fire alarm
Miller was held in lieu of a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 26.
