Home invasion reported in Deep Gap
The incident occurred at 2 a.m. in the 100 block of Little Jake Road in Deep Gap, very close to the Wilkes County line.
The victim told deputies that a white man wearing a ski mask kicked in his front door, Sheriff Len Hagaman said.
The suspect then attacked the victim with a knife, cutting him on the forearm and slashing him twice on the abdomen, Hagaman said. None of the cuts was very serious, and the victim refused assistance from Watauga Medics, Hagaman said. The victim's mother drove him to the hospital instead.
The victim told authorities that he saw the suspect get into a truck and leave toward Boone.
No arrests have been made.
