Former quarry employee charged with theft

by Staff Reports

Police have arrested a former employee of Radford Quarries and charged him with stealing from the business.

Timothy Nash Riffe, 39, of Bristol, Tenn., was charged with one count of felony breaking and entering and one count of felony larceny after breaking and entering, according to the Boone Police Department.

Riffe, a prior employee, is alleged to have entered the business off Den Mac Drive during the night of Dec. 30, 2012. Police believe Riffe stole automobile parts and various tools before returning to Tennessee.

Riffe was taken before a Watauga County magistrate, where he also was served with an outstanding warrant for larceny by an employee.

He was issued a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 26.
