ELECTION: Live local results

If the unofficial election results hold, it appears that Republicans have maintained their 3-2 majority on the Watauga County Board of Commissioners, with Republican Perry Yates defeating Democrat Virginia Roseman in District 1 by a margin of 1,166 votes. Democrats Billy Kennedy and John Welch also clinched commissioners' seats.
