by Kellen Moore
Watauga County Crimestoppers and the Boone Police Department are seeking information about a person suspected of stealing a debit card in late August.
A woman's wallet was taken from a vehicle parked outside Galileo's Bar and Cafe at 1089 W. King St. between 10 a.m. Aug. 16 and 10 p.m. Aug. 17, according to a press release.
A debit card in the wallet was then fraudulently used at several Boone businesses. Security cameras at Smokes 'N More at 178 Southgate Drive show a white female exiting a green four-door car and making a purchase in the store. The footage shows at least two other people in the car, including a white male in the passenger seat.
