Crimestoppers: Home invasion

The Watauga County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion on the morning of March 11 on Chestnut Mountain Road in Boone.


A woman called 911 to report a person broke into the home while the resident was there. Investigators believe the man did not realize the resident was at home.


When encountered by the resident, the man fled in a dark blue small Ford SUV. The vehicle had a small sticker on the lower right side of the rear glass. The man is described as a white male, dark complexion, in his late twenties or early thirties. He has dark hair, a close cut beard and a stocky build.
