Crews respond to power outages
by Staff Reports
As of 6:45 a.m., linemen had all but 35 members restored from that outage that was caused by a tree falling and bringing down three spans of power lines.
Line technicians also completed repairs Tuesday evening for 1,100 members who lost power in the Bamboo area of Watauga County. That power loss occurred at 3:49 p.m. due to a damaged underground cable.
About half of the affected customers saw power return by 4:45 p.m., with full power restoration by about 8:30 p.m., according to Blue Ridge Electric.
The potential continues for major outages today, and the electric cooperative has called in assisting crews to respond as quickly and safely as possible.
Members should report all outages by calling the cooperative's PowerLine at 1-800-448-2383.
Outage status is available at any time by viewing the cooperative's online outage map at http://www.BlueRidgeEMC.com. The outage map includes information about the number and location of outages.
