According to Mountain Electric, a Tennessee Valley Authority transmission line that feeds Beech Mountain is down due to ice buildup, causing the ongoing power outage that occurred last night.

"Crews worked through the night, and we are being told they hope to have the problem repaired by noon," Mountain Electric said on its Facebook page Friday morning.
