On Friday, March 1, Watauga County Schools will be closed for students and teachers "due to icy roads in northern and western areas of Watauga County," according to the schools. The snow day program at Hardin Park will open at 7:30 a.m. Schools will not operate on Saturday, March 2.

Two Rivers Community School tentatively plans to operate on a two-hour delay, with a final decision to be made by 8:30 a.m. If school is held, the "Expeditionary Learning Parents Day" will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Watauga campus of Caldwell Community College will open at 10 a.m.
