Chairman: No action after closed school board meeting
Board of Education Chairman Lee Warren said no action was taken after Wednesday's closed-session meeting to discuss personnel.
Warren said the meeting lasted approximately three and a half hours.
"We're dealing with it, but we can't discuss it," Warren said.
While the board hasn’t shared the topic of the agenda, board members have been dealing lately with at least two conflicts involving Superintendent David Kafitz and community members.
Asheville attorney Chris Campbell was present at the meeting to advise the board if needed.
The meeting was continued to 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to school board attorney Paul Miller.
Meanwhile, school board member Barbara Kinsey has requested a meeting Friday morning with Board of Commissioners Chairman Nathan Miller, he said.
Miller said he wasn’t certain whether the meeting had something to do with the superintendent or a completely different matter.
