Candidates file Q3 finance reports
by Anna Oakes
From the period from Oct. 20 through Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6, candidates
who file with the State Board of Elections are required to file 48-hour notices for expenses of
$5,000 or more or receipts of $1,000 or more.
Candidates for
local races, such as the Watauga County Board of Commissioners and the Watauga County Board of
Education, were required to file campaign finance reports if their campaigns raised $3,000 or more,
said Jane Hodges, Watauga County elections director.
Below are
campaign finance reports for candidates for Watauga County Board of Commissioners and Watauga
County Board of Education, which have not yet been audited.
Not all reports for N.C. Senate
and N.C. House candidates had been filed as of presstime Tuesday. Watauga Democrat will publish these reports online
and in print as soon as they become available.
Campaign finance
reports for U.S. House of Representatives candidates Virginia Foxx and Elisabeth Motsinger were
reported in the Oct. 28 issue of Watauga Democrat
and are available online at http://www.wataugademocrat.com.
According to elections officials, school board candidate Jay Fenwick was slated to file a campaign finance report, but his report had not been received at the Watauga County Board of Elections office as of presstime.
For county races, “individual contributions” do not include donations of less than $50.
