Boone police arrest break-in suspect

Police responded to Creekside Lane just after 1:30 p.m. Monday after the resident's call, as the intruder fled from the back door of the home as the homeowner entered, according to police.
The suspect left the area in a vehicle, striking the homeowner's vehicle as he left, police said.
Officers located the vehicle and suspect at the end of Chase Hill Drive, a dead-end road that borders the Boone Golf Course.
Jonathan Glenn Pleasant, 25, of Boone, was taken into custody without incident, according to police. He was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering and misdemeanor hit and run.
He was held at the Watauga Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 21.
