Boone man charged with putting gun to woman's head
Police arrested a Boone man Monday following allegations that he put a gun to a woman’s head and pulled the trigger.
It’s not clear whether the gun was unloaded or simply failed to fire, said Sgt. Matt Stevens of the Boone Police Department.
Wayne Edward Coyle Jr., 28, of Winkler’s Meadow, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, Stevens said. He was issued a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.
The woman reported to police Nov. 8 that the incident had happened three days prior at Coyle’s residence, Stevens said. She said he had also made statements threatening to kill her.
